Small Town Monsters

Friday. Tours.

Tours is a small place bounded by the rivers Loire and Cher. There is little to do in Tours, however the fertile soil on the banks of the Loire seems to have sprouted an abundance of typically ostentatious châteaux. Lest your curiosity be piqued, the state of the chateaux will be addressed after certain visits this weekend.

The town itself has proven to be much like a muddy sandbox. Wet, bland, and safe if uninteresting. For lack of better entertainment, yesterday Abhinay and I and a guy named Luke walked to a small island in the middle of the Loire. There we found a skatepark, a coupla benches, and some monster graffiti under the bridge. (See my awesome pictures below)

These two weeks in Tours I'm living with a family of 7. That is to say I have host parents Sophie and Hugues, host brothers Benoît (17), Antoine (14), François (12), and Louis (9), and a host sister Marylise (10). The parents are pharmacists, and the kids all participate in obscure sports like Fencing, Equestrian Competition, Karate, Polo, and Tennis.
