Of Shoes, and Ships, and Sealing Wax

A long long time ago (I can still remember)...

Voila. After a few weeks of trying sporadically to upload pictures for this post and others, victory is mine. So, let's travel back in time a bit, shall we? It's weeks ago and in the name of forgetting whatever it was we had to learn/read/write (huh, guess it worked better than I thought..) about at the beginning of another onerous year of formal education Abhinay, Luke, and I decide to lose ourselves in twists and turns of Paris' famous Marché aux Puces Saint-Ouen de Clignancourt. I was far more fascinated than the other two at the array of socks, buttons, headphones, clockhands, books, chandeliers, and random monsters spread throughout, a fact evinced by the absolutely riveting photographs below.

Also, I've kindly included some possibilities for future adult-life vehicles in amongst the visual profusion. Indeed, rocket-ship, blue truck, ice-cream cart, and two-person rocket-ship seem to round out my list of newly-preferred transportation possibilities. There's something for everyone at this veritable bazaar; I came away with a pair of fingerless gloves and, almost, a penny-farthing. Nonetheless, being surrounded by so much stuff (there is no better word, the place was weird like a pawn shop and packed more densely than my suitcases) can lead one to fatigue. Some passed out on comfortable prospective purchases, but I made it onto the subway headed home before giving over to my drowsiness. Enjoy.

(And yes, I was disturbed by the strange child-in-a-cage display. No, I didn't dare ask about its origins. French antiques dealers are a strange, strange breed.)

Which marche was this? I went to St. Ouen with Natalie and LOOOOOOVED it. There is so much random crap there that I can't imagine how it's possible to get bored.
